To me, spring starts when the first daffodil pops up. At my house, we have all sorts of kinds. Little, big, few petals, many petals, but it's spring once the first one comes.
I love daffodils and it is spring when they arrive! The good thing is the deer won't eat my daffodils...it's the tulips that last only until they open...and then the deer eat them all :( Happy A-Z April
